July 26, 2022 – Setting Realistic Goals Pt.2
When setting goals, you want to be as specific
and purposeful as possible. What I mean is that your ‘goals’ shouldn’t as
general as “losing weight” or “feeling healthy.” You need to find the root or
motive behind that goal. So, say you want to lose weight; Why do you want to
lose weight? Is because you’re diabetic? Maybe your family has a “history” of
having heart problems. It could even be something simple like you want to gain
more confidence because you have self esteem issues. What ever it is, you need
to find the root to why you this goal is important to you. You probably heard this saying
before, “Know your why.” Why do want to lose weight? Why do want to gain
muscle? You have to dig deep to find these answers. Figuring this out will give
you more purpose in the things you do throughout the day. You need to give
yourself a constant reminder of why you’re doing what you’re doing. The days
where it gets tough, when you start getting tired, when your sick of the same
routine you’re doing day in day out, you HAVE TO remind yourself, why you’re
doing what you’re doing.

June 27, 2022 – What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) is a well recognized medical treatment that enhances the body’s ability to heal. HBOT uses pure oxygen under pressure to saturate the red blood cells and dissolve up to 15 times the normal amount of oxygen in the plasma. Oxygen is then carried deeper into the body via the lymph, interstitial fluid and cerebrospinal fluid, maximizing tissue oxygenation. The additional oxygen stimulates growth and repair processes.
Benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Brain Disorders
Hypebaric Oxygen has proven to be an effective therapy for brain disorders and developmental problems such as cerebral palsy, autism, childhood epilepsy, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.
A person’s brain uses nearly twice as much oxygen in the growth phase. That’s why children with epilepsy, autism and CP respond so well. Their brains are still maturing and can use the oxygen to grow.
Blood vessels in the brain grow dramatically just before birth. In children, damage may be caused by a deficiency of oxygen during delivery, vaccinations, heavy metal poisoning and ect. In adults, traumatic brain injury from accidents and stroke cause major damage
Sports Injuries
Hyperbaric oxygen is a medical treatment where clients breathe 100% oxygen at pressure greater than sea level. Up to 3 times the ambient rpressure delivers 10 to 15 times more oxygen than normal to injured tissues and speeds healing. Increasing evidence supports the use of HBO2 for soft tissue injury
At twice sea level pressure sufficient oxygen is dissolved in plasma to keep tissue alive despite the inability of red blood cells to reach the injury. Early HBO2 within the first 4 to 6 hours of injury achieves the best results. It takes about 30 minutes to HBO2 before oxygen levels in muscle tissue reach a plateau.
Wound Repair
Collagen synthesis is required for tissue repair and growth. HBO2 stimulates tissue formation and grows blood vessels into the wound.
Bone Injury
HBO2 increases the rate of bone repair and some studies indicate a reduced time to fracture healing. HBO2 can prevent complications that block bone healing if used promptly and can prevent amputation in the case of sever fracture
Muscle Injury
HBO2 enhances the return of injured muscles to full strength and prevents further tissue breakdown by inflammation. It also helps alleviate compartment syndrome, a painful condition due to swelling of the muscle inside it’s sheath caused by overuse or trauma.
Ligament Injury
Studies have shown that HBO2 applied soon after injury, enhances recovery of ligament strength and stiffness. HBO2 enables the formation of high quality collagen, a process that requires high oxygen pressure near injury.
Swelling
White blood cells break down injured tissues and leak fluid into the wound site causing swelling. This increases the distance oxygen must travel to reach the wound. HBO2 reduces the swelling and increases the amount of oxygen in the plasma allowing enough oxygen at the wound site to permit healing
Peripheral Nerve Regeneration
HBO2 helps heal injured nerves which branch off the spine. Nerves which are not part of the brain or spinal column posses regenerative powers.
HBO2
- Increases metabolism & energy
- Balances one’s immune system
- Promotes bone health
- Minimizes platelet aggregation
- Reduces pain & inflammation
- Increases antioxidant levels
- Improves microcirculation
- Improves mental clarity
- Alleviates depression
- Controls bacterial infections

June 14, 2022 – Setting Realistic Goals Pt.1
I get it, we all want washboard abs, a tight waist and the whole “Instagram fitness body” but truth is, there are sacrifices that you must make in order to reach these certain goals. An average individual has daily responsibilities in their lives like, taking care of their kids, work, business and other regular day to day responsibilities. When setting goals, you got to ask yourself, “Am I willing to prioritize a certain amount of time and effort needed to achieve this goal?” These ‘extreme’ and ‘ambitious’ goals take a lot of focus and effort so you got to be willing to allocate the necessary time and effort to achieve this goal. If you’re saying you want to get washboard abs by summer but you’re not willing to SACRIFICE your weekend warrior antics, I’m going break it to you right now, you aren’t getting those washboard abs. Here’s another example: If you’re looking to shave off inches off your waist, but you can’t stop yourself from binging on pastries at night, then you set the bar way too high. In order to achieve certain goals, you need to build the character and discipline that will get you to that goal. This goes back to setting realistic goals; When setting these goals, you got to know the kind of character and discipline you need to have in order to achieve these high-level goals. If you set these crazy goals and you imbedded in your mind that you’re not down to make the necessary investment, sacrifices and character changes, then you need to go back to the drawing board and reconsider your goals. There’s a term that personal trainers use called “SMART” which stands for, Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound.

June 4,2022 Sustainable Dieting With Arnie Vic
“Yea I’m going to Mexico in a couple months, so starting Monday, I’m going to cut all carbs and do
fasted cardio every morning for 30 minutes” If I had a penny for every time, I heard this or anything
similar to this context from prospects, I’d be a millionaire. It’s crazy to think with the amount of
information that’s readily available by now, people would have it figured out. Unfortunately, that’s not
the case and people today still look for fad diets for a quick fix. In the end of the day people, there are 2
things that you should look for in a “diet,” consistency and sustainability and of course, behind that is a
calorie deficit. In the end of the day, you want to be able to do something you can do for the rest of your
life. Why would you waste 2 months of feeling like shit and super restricted when there are more
sustainable options to a chicken and broccoli diet. Life is too short to run fad diets that you
clearly hate. The formula is simple; Burn more Calories than you eat, but don’t put yourself in an
aggressive calorie deficit where you’re constantly starving. Start of small, and slowly taper down if you
need to. In terms of cardio, if you have a heart rate monitor, determine how much of a calorie deficit
you want to put yourself with the food and make up the difference through cardio. You can even get
away with doing 0 cardio and staying in a calorie deficit by just eating less, but I don’t recommend that
because there are a lot of other health benefits to doing cardio (which I’ll discuss in another post). If you
don’t have a heart rate monitor then, start small like 15minutes 3x a week and slowly increase it if you
feel the need it. Again, the formula to losing bodyfat is not that complicated. In the end of the day, it’s
about trusting the process, being patient and staying consistent!
